Extensive knowledge of the processes involved in losses of nitrate, phosphate and agrochemicals from land to surface waters and the resulting environmental problems. Strong interest in the health aspects of the nitrate problem. Has developed several widely-used computer models and has cogent opinions on the use and abuse of computer modelling.
